Sortio privacy policy

The privacy of your data is our highest priority. We take security very seriously and make sure that all your data stays private, at all times. We'll only access your account to help you with a problem and never view your data or files unless you ask us to do so. Access is to all accounts is logged by IP address, so we can always verify that no unauthorised access has happened for as long as the logs are kept.

Identity & access

When you sign up for Sortio, we ask for your name, company name, and email address. This information is required to set up your account. We may use this information to send you invoices, updates, or other essential information. We will never sell your personal info to third parties, nor will we use your name or company in marketing statements without your permission.

When you email us with a question or to ask for help, we will keep that correspondence, and the email address, for future reference. We may track your usage of our website and application for statistical purposes (like conversion rates and to test new designs). We also store any information you volunteer, like surveys, as long as is practical or useful.

The only times we will ever share your info:

  • To provide products or services you've requested, with your permission.
  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by law.
  • If Sortio is acquired by another company, or the operators of Sortio merge with another company. In this case, we will notify you before any of your information or data is transferred and becomes subject to different terms and conditions and privacy policies.

Law enforcement

We won’t hand your data over to law enforcement unless a court order says we have to. We reject any requests from local and federal law enforcement when they seek data without a court order. And unless we’re legally prevented from it, we’ll always inform you when such requests are made.

How we protect your data

All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. All database backups are also encrypted. Other than your passwords, data isn’t encrypted while it’s live in our database, in order to have it ready when you need it. Payment information, such as credit cards, are not stored on our servers.

Deleted data

When you cancel your account, we delete all your information from our servers after 30 days. Anything that you delete on your account while it’s active will also be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Changes & questions

Sortio may update this policy once in a while. We will notify you about significant changes by emailing the account owner or by placing a notice on our site or within our application. You can access, change or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us.
